Back in 2015 I went to Walmart and purchased a reduced-price blaster of 2015 Allen & Ginter and pulled out a beautiful 1/1 card, perhaps the 3rd I had it at the time. How is a duplicate possible you ask?
I kept the blaster box for years just in case, to show this historic error. Unfortunately I had to thin the collection a bit and tighten boxes up and tossed that empty box, plus the wrapper….. wrapper you ask?
The person I bought the 2nd one from off of eBay sent the wrapper of a ‘fat pack’ with the card, as that is what he pulled it from.
So I have a theory: perhaps shift change, or something regarding the 1/1’s got shuffled and they ended up including a sorta damaged card (not bad, but it wasn’t mint) and this is what I paid over $100 for to complete this little ‘set’.
